PSi was engaged to carry out drilling and blasting of 5000m³ of rock in downtown Airlie Beach with the closest house being 150m from blast. Result excellent. All material was able to be dug with a 20 tonne Excavator and saved approximately 5 months in construction time (if other methods of rock breaking had been chosen). Also some temp ground support by way of ground anchors to high unstable embankments was performed as well as some permanent ground anchors for retaining wall in environmentally challenging conditions, the project successfully completed on time and within budget without any incidents nor lost time injuries.
